Business Law

In order to practice business law well, first you need to know business. At Bryant & Brown, we comprehend the big picture and ensure business goals and needs are met. We understand the long view of a client and not just individual case specifics.

Our firm has two decades of experience in civil litigation and business law, including decades of experience drawing up real estate contracts or joint-use agreements.

The firm specializes in:

* Lease drafting and negotiations: Leased space is a major expense. Companies need to make sure they get the best deal possible and on terms and conditions that make sense long-term.

Bryant & Brown has the experience to get the job done right. We recognize a change of venue must be a seamless transition or else revenue could suffer. Bryant & Brown helps businesses buying or leasing new office space remain relevant and active during the deal. The firm handles medical asset purchases, and commercial and ground leases.

The firm has negotiated and drafted ground leases and joint-use agreements, including agreements for recreation departments that addressed dozens of school facilities including pools, playing fields and gymnasiums.

* Business litigation: Business owners are often shorted money. It just comes with the territory. How you go about collecting that money can make or break a company. Bryant & Brown helps you unravel the dispute without interrupting business. In addition, the firm handles disputes discretely and without burning bridges.

The firm, for example, represented a public school district client when it was presented with a claim for approximately $91,000 in connection with completion of the fire alarm system at a public school. Bryant & Brown resolved the matter informally by asserting the district’s rights and defenses against the claimants and conditioning settlement of the case on the completion of outstanding work, with some additional changes requested by the district. The matter was resolved without payment of penalties or opposing counsel’s attorney fees and within the contract budget.
